Streets Of Rage II Colour Enhancement ROM Hack Hits The Sega Mega Drive

Streets-Of-Rage-II-Colour-Enhancement-HackWith near perfect gameplay and such memorable action, there's little room for improvement where Streets of Rage II is concerned. That said, one ROM hacker has enhanced the Sega Mega Drive classic by increasing the vibrancy of the visuals, gifting it a much more stunning look.

If we were to put the Super Nintendo and Mega Drive up against each other where the graphics are concerned, they both may come out as equals, but it's safe to say that in general the majority of SNES games are much brighter visually. The lush colours of Earthbound, Yoshi's Island and even Super Mario World leave the likes of Golden Axe, Phantasy Star II and - in this case - Streets of Rage II rather looking rather moody.

This all new Streets of Rage II ROM hack aims to remedy these aforementioned visual differences by recolouring the majority of the game's artwork. While many may argue that the game doesn't really need anything of the sort doing to it, the differences presented do look rather stunning despite being such subtle changes.

Should this be your kind of thing too, also available are colour enhancement hacks to both OutRun and Golden Axe.

Either way, be sure to have a quick glance at this enhancement and lay several more colourful bare knuckles into your favourite foes.

I think the original colors suit the mood of the game much better.

This is a really nice hack! Sor2 has a lot of neon lights and colorful locations, and this hack really improves this. Much better than the original.

I also recommend the "Multiple Enemies!!" hack that add more enemies in each fight, so much fun!
