StarFox 2: The Complete History Revealed

starfox2screenshotAs far as unreleased games go, StarFox 2 is often refered to as the 'one that got away'. Set to release in 1995, Nintendo pulled the plug leaving many questions unanswered. SNES Central has now collected the missing pieces to this puzzle and put them in place.

This year would be the 15th anniversary of the game, had it seen release. Nintendo was hesitant to release StarFox 2 for the Super Nintendo, due to it's rivals (The Sega Saturn & Sony Playstation) looking far superior to their 16bit system.

In 2002, an anonymous ex-Nintendo employee leaked a ROM of the unreleased StarFox 2 online, answering millions of Nintendo gamer's prayers worldwide. While this ROM for the Super Nintendo was well recieved, there was still a cloud of mist around the game's original disappearance. Hopefully this write up by Evan G of SNES Central will finally answer those.
