Starforce Pi Arcade System Manufacturers Create One-Of-A-Kind Neo Geo Tabletop Machine

Starforce-Neo-MVS-Arcade-TabletopIf you ever had a reason to be jealous of someone else in the retro gaming realm, it’s now. The talented team behind the Starforce Pi, the sadly unfunded Kickstarter project to release stunning palm-sized arcade machines running on Raspberry Pi computers, are back. Using their expertise from their prior project, they’ve created a unique and portable Neo Geo MVS arcade machine which is nothing short of stunning.

Simply dubbed the Starforce Neo, this beautiful piece of work repurposes an older computer’s case known as the Minitel 1. Featuring its very own 8” LCD display with the much needed 4:3 aspect ratio, this tabletop arcade machine runs off the original Neo Geo MV-1B motherboard for an authentic experience.

Furthermore the MVS’s scart video signal is run through a scanline generator before hitting the LCD screen, giving what can only be described as that timeless look. On the reverse of the repurposed case sits a small opening for Neo Geo MVS cartridges, along with added features such as an additional controller port, and a HDMI-Out port for gaming on the big screen.

As much as we’d all love to own one of the beauties, it’s sadly a unique offering which reportedly cost around €600 to build. Nevertheless we can all dream!

>LCD disguised as a CRT

Almost got me, but that pretty much invalidates this product. Considering the huge price I would expect a master treatment, not some cheap LCD.
Still I wouldn't buy it anyway, so why am I complaining.
