Square Enix's 'Dragon Quest' Series Heading To iOS & Android

Dragon-Quest-Series-Heading-To-MobileWhile the Western world has been lucky enough in recent years where sampling Dragon Quest is concerned, our supply of Japanese adventures is about to level up. Square Enix has just announced that the first eight games in the timeless series are heading to touchscreen devices shortly.

According to Square Enix, the first title in the series which was originally released on the Nintendo Famicom in 1986 is due to be released on iOS and Android sometime this winter in Japan.

As usual though, this announcement currently only covers the gaming heaven that is Japan, however, we remain hopeful that these titles will eventually head west. Given that Square Enix have seen an overwhelmingly positive response to their Final Fantasy releases on the Apple App Store and Google Play, it wouldn't surprise us if they intend to do the same with Dragon Quest.

Until we know more, take a peek at the new website Square Enix has launched to promote the mobile remakes of the classic Dragon Quest titles.
