SNK's Neo Geo X Gold Limited Edition Handheld Console Now Available For £175

SNK-Neo-Geo-X-Gold-Limited-Edition-Handheld-Console-Now-Available-For-175As of today, SNK's revival in the hardware world is available to order for £175. The Neo Geo X Gold Limited Edition Console / Handheld has been released in Europe via distributors Blaze, coming pre-loaded with 20 classic Neo Geo titles.

If you missed our previous coverage of the Neo Geo X Gold, SNK's handheld-come-console was due to go on general sale on the 6th of December - including 20 Neo Geo classics, a Neo Geo AES housing that doubles up as a HDMI TV Out docking station, an USB replica arcade stick and an expandable game card slot.

The release date was delayed until today and has since gone on general sale in the US via distributors Tommo too, for the price of $199. But what do you get for your money? That's something you're now able to see, thanks to a recently uploaded unboxing video on YouTube.

If I didn't already have an MVS and AES I'd have bought it but don't need the same games a third time :-)

The reviews are positive except for the hdmi output

I actually have one and think its a very nice piece of hardware. It works as it should, the arcades stick feels good and games on it are great.

Yes, the HDMI isn't the best, but playing this as a handheld is amazing. The controls and screen work perfectly, it's like playing the arcade version on a little screen.

For the record, I already own most of the games on either MVS and/or AES and I still feel this is a great addition to my collection.

I don't get why anyone would want this junk. It's just some crappy embedded linux emulator with a Neo Geo logo slapped on. The screen isn't even the right aspect ratio and the HDMI output is worse than terrible. Personally I think it's an insult to the Neo Geo brand.

Mine should arrive today or tomorrow. They shipped it yesterday. I just hope it gets here in time, I'm not at home from the 24th until the 31st...

Also, I want that because reasons!
