SNK Neo Geo Pocket USB Flash Cartridge Now In Development

SNK-Neo-Geo-Pocket-USB-Flash-Cartridge-Now-In-DevelopmentWith Krikzz covering all based for the majority of the Sega and Nintendo consoles, it's about time somone started catering for the less popular systems. Another team has introduced the Neo Geo Pocket Linkmasta, a USB Linker which is capable of writing to NGPC flash cards and backing up originals cartridges in ROM format.

As of speaking, the in-progress device utilises the existing Neo Geo Pocket Flash Card released by Bung in the handheld's hey-day. Sadly locating the original Bung Flash Card and Linker is one of the more challenging parts of collecting Neo Geo Pocket items.

While this will be of little to use to those without the unofficial kit from Bung, the team behind the Linkmasta hope to remedy this by creating their own flash card to accompany their USB cartridge reader/writer in the near future.

This news should come as a real godsend to the Neo Geo fans amongst RetroCollect. Given some of the NGPC titles such as Pocket Reversi are becoming even harder to find, the Linkmasta should allow gamers to finally take control of their SNK handheld and enjoy the small but quaint collection of portable Neo Geo hits.

Hoping they hurry up with the flash card - I've got an NGPC, and a full romset. Would be cool to combine the two! 8)
