SNK Neo Geo games arrive on PSN to celebrate 20th Anniversary

Neo-Geo-StationIt's the Neo Geo's 20th anniversary currently and SNK are going to help us celebrate.Titles such as King of Fighters '94 and Metal Slug have arrived on the PlayStation Network making it time to put the PS3 USB Neo Geo CD Pad they recently released to good use.

RetroCollect's suzzopher is on form yet again, as he brings us more fantastic retro gaming news to our very own forums. The Neo Geo announcement spotted by him states an impressive 10 Neo Geo titles have arrived on the PlayStation Network today under the project name Neo Geo Station.

Neo Geo Station is a single download featuring the ten games in a rather mouthwatering line up, for the low price of £7.19/€8.99. Sony PSP owners will also be pleased to know that some of the games from the bundle will be available to download individually too for £5.49/€6.99 each.

In commemorating the 20th anniversary of the legendary NEOGEO MVS & AES hardware, SNK PLAYMORE is pleased to announce the worldwide PlayStation Store release of “NEOGEO Station” titles, exclusively on PlayStation 3 and PSP*.
VERSUS and/or CO-OP Play with players all over the world via PlayStation Network becomes possible with online NETWORK MODE for PS3 (PSP Versions will be compatible with Ad-Hoc Mode**), along with a variety of features both hardcore fans and a new generation of NEOGEO gamers will be sure to appreciate.

These ports are arcade perfect. I downloaded Samurai Showdown, Metal Slug and King of Fighters 94. All play fantastic. Turn off the smoothing though, as the smoothing just doesn't look as good.

Man, I wish stuff like this would be released on the PC. And why not a anniversary edition of Metal Slug for DS? Damn lucky PS owners.
