SMSPower Reveals More Undumped Korean Master System ROMs

SMSPower-Reveals-More-Undumped-Korean-Master-System-ROMsWith the Summer of Protos bringing a selection of unreleased games to the Nintendo NES community, SMSPower have been on a similar mission to offer Sega's 8-bit rival the same treatment. The Master System elite returns this week with a handful of ROMs, including a selection of Super Mario Bros clones.

Amongst these new releases are the copyright-questionable Super Boy I, Super Boy 3 and Super Bioman I. Each one is a blatant clone of a popular Super Mario game, often featuring major gameplay flaws in comparison to the Nintendo originals.

Of these bootlegs, the most notable, Super Bioman I is a lacking attempt to duplicate Super Mario Bros 3 for the Sega Master System (or Samsung Gam*Boy in Korea). Super Boy 3 attempts to closely recreate Super Mario World while Super Boy I is an earlier version of the horrific Super Boy II by Zemina.

Mario rip-offs aside, SMSPower have also revealed a ROM dump of a cracking Master System port of an MSX game known as Knightmare II: The Maze of Galious. The MSX hit originally used the keyboard to control gameplay, however the porters have reconfigured the gameplay to the blocky control pad.

And last but not least, SMSPower has also released a ROM hack of Woody Pop (Game Gear) dressed up as Arkanoid, an unlicensed version of Galaxian, a prototype of Golfamania and SG-1000 versions of Lode Runner and Bomb Jack. *Takes deep breath*

So should you have any interest in the Sega Master System or fancy playing some unlicensed hits, head over to SMSPower to download these new ROM dumps. And while you're there be sure to thank Bock for kindly releasing these to the public.
