This week may have been a good one for scientists around the world, but we'd now argue that retro gamers are about to reclaim the start of July. Sega has confirmed and showcased an upcoming high definition remake of the iconic Sega Saturn dream-em-up, NiGHTs Into Dreams.
Sega's news arrives on the sixteenth anniversary of NiGHTs Into Dreams, which was originally released on July 5th 1996 for the Sega Saturn. While the HD remake is a godsend, many 32-bit Sega enthusiasts would argue that the game's graphics and vibrant visual style holds up just as well today as it ever did. These dedicated fans will be pleased to hear that the Sega Saturn version of the game will be present within too, completely untouched.
NiGHTs Into Dreams HD is due to be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 via the usual digital distribution models this Autumn. The HD version will feature the gorgeous dreamy locations in overdrive thanks to the updated visuals in 16:9. It will also feature leaderboards, trophies and achievements.
