Sega Dreamcast Port of Homebrew Neo Geo Shmup NEO XYX Set For February Release

Neo-XYX-Sega-Dreamcast-Release-DateDreamcast gamers get ready! Yet another homebrew classic is heading your way and it's one you don't want to miss. The ever talented NG:DEV.TEAM are bringing their maniac Neo Geo AES and MVS shooter NEO XYX over to Sega's 128-bit console in a more affordable offering.

Originally making its début on SNK hardware, many gamers unfortunately missed out on enjoying this future classic due to the high cost of Neo Geo cartridges. Very much like their previous releases such as GunLord though, NG:DEV.TEAM have been hard at work behind the scenes to ensure that the retro gaming community can still enjoy this scrolling shooter without needing to own the elusive AES or MVS hardware.

With the Sega Dreamcast port of NEO XYX fast approaching this February, NG:DEV.TEAM have not only begun taking pre-orders for this upcoming port of the scrolling shooter, but have also launched an official website for the game. According to their online store, the regular version of the game will cost 34EUR, the Limited Edition will set you back 46EUR, and the more desirable Collector's Edition will be 99EUR.

Although I'm a fan of shmups, I'm more old-school (Xevious, Juno First, 1942, Vulgus, Star Force, etc) and I really don't like bullet-hells.

That said, I acknowledge that this is a quality title and I hope it's successful enough to spur further development from the NG:DEV team!
