With countless homebrew releases heading to the Commodore 64, it's often hard to know which to invest in. Wide Pixel Games' Fairy Well, however, was recently the winner of RGCD's C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition, promising a whole load of action on such a small cartridge.
Fairy Well features gameplay similar to that of Metroid, offering an open ended exploration adventure, where by you must control one of three different fairies hoping to rescue the princess to restore balance to their forest. With large randomly generated level maps, a selection of enemies, item shops, and even boss-battles, you'll need to dust down your Commodore 64 and get ready for some action.
The physical cartridge release from the gurus over at RGCD comes in a stunning purple cartridge, housed in a well designed box, accompanied by a full colour manual and exclusive Fairy Well sticker.
