Resident Evil 2 Game Boy Advance Tech Demo ROM To Be Released Online Via Community Fundraiser

Resident-Evil-2-GBA-Tech-Demo-ROMIn April 2000 an Italian games development studio - Raylight Studios - was formed, entering an over populated industry. Needless to say, these newcomers needed something to make them stand out. In true style, the Italians opted to unofficially port Resident Evil 2 to the Game Boy Advance. Despite footage of this feat existing online for quite some time, no ROM file of this technical achievement exists in playable form for retro gamers - at least until now.

The game preservation group, Past To Present Online, has managed to locate a source in ownership of this very tech demo, and has gone on to hint that playable code may be released to the general public in the near future via a community fundraiser.

Raylight Studios, however, didn't stop there with just one tech demo. If Resident Evil 2 wasn't impressive enough already, they also worked on bringing Metal Gear Solid to Nintendo's 32-bit handheld.

While the playable ROM for Resident Evil 2 on the Game Boy Advance is yet to be released online, Past To Present Online have released more videos of the tech demo in action to YouTube, which can both be seen below.

Stay tuned for more information and hopefully a downloadable ROM.
