If the wait for Pier Solar is getting to you, we have some good news. More homebrew Sega Megadrive games are in development! Announced today is the upcoming platformer Project MD.
All that has been shown so far is a gameplay sample video. Sadly there is no audio on the released video and the game is in an unfinished state. The developer has stated that there is no release date as of yet but is continuing on with the game.
5 levels of the platformer starring Stephany in her own virtual world have been created so far. Power ups, enemies and traps, everything you would expect from a platformer is here.

OK, I didn't want to make this public before to avoid overhyping, but to the hell with this.
Here you get to see Frozen Memories, a level from Project MD. In case you don't know about this, Project MD is a homebrew game I'm making for the Mega Drive, and as you can see, it's a 2D platformer =P
You play as Stephany, and the game is set inside a virtual world she created. While this level is pretty meh, because it's set inside a virtual world, some levels look pretty crazy. Expect something like Pulseman in terms of visuals. Also, you can collect power-ups in the way that give Stephany special powers. In this video, you can see the ray power-up. Other than that it's a standard platformer, though.
There is no release date so don't ask for it. I have 5 levels completed so far, but of course the final game will have much more (and bosses too!). With my luck, the game will probably be ready at the same time Pier Solar finally comes out. It already happened to me something like that before x_x
