'Prince Of Persia 2: The Shadow And The Flame' Due For Touchscreen Device Remake

Prince-Of-Persia-2-The-Shadow-And-The-Flame-Due-For-Touchscreen-Device-RemakeFlashback HD may well have been the most impressive announcement made by Ubisoft earlier today at Spring 2013 Digital Days, but there was another iconic classic getting the remake treatment that was sadly overshadowed - Jordan Mechner's 1993 cinematic platformer, Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame.

The Prince of Persia sequel might not be as well regarded as its predecessor, however, it still encompasses all the same impressive traits of the original. Ubisoft are set to revive this dated sequel on touchscreen devices, although those hoping for a true-to-the-original remake are sadly out of luck. Jordan Mechner recently stated on his personal blog that this new game will not be a direct port of the MS-DOS original.

Having said that, the trailer Ubisoft presented earlier today very much suggests that the developers will be sticking very closely to the source material, keeping fans of the original rather happy.
