Pre-Orders Open For GDEmu: Sega Dreamcast SD Card ISO Loading Add-On Device

GDEMU-Pre-Orders-OpenOver the last few years Sega Dreamcast gamers have been teased with the slow trickle of news regarding the GDEMU project. This incredible development promising the ability to load game discs from SD cards has made fantastic progress as of recent, so much so that pre-orders have now opened up for the device.

As the project simply puts it, the GDEMU is an SD card based replacement for the optical drive in Dreamcast. Boasting 100% compatibility with the library of existing software, full support for CD Digital Audio, and improved loading times all-round, this is without a doubt one enhancement you'll be needing for your 128-bit console.

The newly opened GDEMU website has started to detail everything eager gamers need to know about this new device, from installation to operation and everything in-between. By the sounds of it the device doesn't use an on-screen menu to select your game of choice, but instead hardware buttons to cycle through to the images loaded onto the SD card before boot. That said, the GDEMU website has a section detailing firmware updates, potentially meaning game selection menus could be added at a later date.

As of speaking the GDEMU can be preordered for €100, however, its release date is currently unknown.

AWESOME! You know what would also be a neat thing, is for some sort of adapter to use original xbox controllers, as they are the closest thing along with analogue triggers. I have a ps2 adapter, but of course no analogue triggers. (and xbox wheels might be nice too).

I've always been a sega fan, but was never a fan of the DC controller.
