Pre-Orders Open For Cyber Gadget’s Upcoming Multi-Console System ‘Retro Freak’ On Amazon Japan

Cyber-Gadget-Retro-Freak-Console-on-Amazon-JPNAlthough the feature packed rival to the RetroN 5 has only just been announced, it would appear this all-in-one system is already available to pre-order. Coming in two different flavours, early adopters of Cyber Gadget's Retro Freak can either secure a barebones system capable of playing eleven different systems, or one that comes equipped with an adapter for just about every classic gaming controller.

Currently priced at ¥21,600 for the most basic of the two bundles, the only downside to this product’s arrival on Amazon Japan is the fact it can’t be shipped outside of the country. While we expect bundles and deals to soon start arriving elsewhere around the world, we’re unsure as to when the Retro Freak will become available.

Going back to the second of the bundles on offer though, the aforementioned retro control pad adapter is worth focusing on given its exclusion from the original announcement. Promising compatibility with the Nintendo NES, Sega Mega Drive, PC Engine, and Super Nintendo control pads, the Retro Freak appears to be taking on the RetroN 5 head on with additional and exclusive support for the Famicom Expansion port too. That said, the RetroN 5 does come with built-in controller ports leaving us wondering why Cyber Gadget have opted to create a standalone adapter.

Stay tuned as we await further details and get our hands on what could become the ultaime emulation device.
