Pre-orders now open for the Retrode 2 USB Retro Cartridge Adapter

Retrode-Cartridge-AdapterEarlier this yearMatthias Hullin revealed his updated model of the ultimate USB cartridge solution for the Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo known as the Retrode. Just a few months after the initial tease, the pre-order form for the new Retrode opened up this week allowing gamers to secure their devices for the September release.

Offering the ability to directly access any plugged in cartridge as a ROM sat upon a disk drive on your computer, the Retrode offers the perfect legal solution to the emulator fanatics. Those more interested in the obscure side of gaming will find the Retrode to be the perfect device for dumping and archiving unreleased game code from prototype retro games.

However the most interesting addition to the new model of the Retrode is the inclusion of two Super Nintendo controller ports on either side of the device. As promised, the revised model will bring connectivity to use SNES pads on any computer for your emulation and gaming needs.

The pre-orders start at 65EUR for a single Retrode, with discounts for those ordering in bulk. However should you want to get your hands on the kit early, there is an alternative, albeit a little more expensive option available. For those yet to make a decision, RetroCollect has pre-ordered one of the Retrode's and will be looking to review the hardware upon arrival.
