Pre-Orders for the upcoming 64drive N64 Flash Card now open

64drive-Nintendo-64-Flash-Card-Pre-Orders-Now-OpenWith the Everdrive 64 sold out leaving a legion of hungry Nintendo 64 gamers awaiting an all in one solution to playing ROMs on original hardware, the 64drive couldn't have arrived at a better time. Pre-orders for Retroactive's upcoming flash card have been opened, with the announcement of a few new features.

Retroactive's newsletter subscribers were pleasantly surprised on Sunday evening after the team announced via email that the pre-ordering had begun. Within the email newsletter was the announcement of a few new features which could potentially over shadow Krikzz's Everdrive 64.

The 64drive has seen a considerable upgrade since it was announced, now boasting both CompactFlash and Micro SD slots capable of storing up to 128gb worth of ROMs. Although the entire ROM set shouldn't exceed the 30gb mark, you cannot fault Retroactive for offering a well and truly future proof feature within the device.

To add the finishing touches to the device, Retroactive have claimed that 99.9% of the Nintendo 64 library is compatible with the 64drive, without the need of hacks and fixes to enable certain ROM compatibility. And for that last 0.1%, apparently it can be added with a small hack at your own discretion.

Amazing. Certainly pricey at $199.99 plus $14 shipping - but a hell of a lot cheaper than going for a full PAL set :D
