PlayStation 1 Suikoden Visual Novel 'Gensō Suikogaiden Volume 2' Fan Translated Into English

Genso-Suikogaiden-Volume-2-Fan-TranslationHalf a year ago we brought the news to you that the first volume in Konami's Japanese exclusive visual novel to accompany Suikoden had been fan translated. Those who have begun reading into this PlayStation video game book, Gens? Suikogaiden, will be pleased to hear that the second volume has just been fan translated.

As mentioned in the original news update regarding the first volume, the visual novel genre is rarely seen outside of Japan and countless titles of the genre have unfairly remained untranslated. Luckily enough the efforts of ROM hackers and fan translators have begun breaking down these language barriers and thus granting access to these long lost treats.

Gensō Suikogaiden in particular was an accompanying side novel to the Suikoden series, broken up in to two volumes. The second, Gensō Suikogaiden Volume 2: Duel at Crystal Valley picks up after the Dunan Unification Wars and the events which take place in Suikoden II, following Nash into the Crystal Valley.

Although this incredibly obscure treat will only appeal to a small selection of retro gamers, fans of the Suikoden series should not give this extended story a miss. Full instructions on how to patch the Japanese version of the game are included within the Gensō Suikogaiden Volume 2 fan translation patch download.
