Phantasy Star II Text Adventures now playable in English

Phantasy-Star-II-Text-Adventure-TranslationWhich text adventures?! Yeah, we weren't too familiar with them until now, but Sega released 8 download only; Phantasy Star II text adventure games via the Sega Meganet modem in 1990. Luckily these have been preserved by the usual ROM squads and now finally translated for all to enjoy.

The eight adventures were all based upon the same engine, each featuring a different character from Phantasy Star II and their story. Each game features your text heavy story line, followed by some tradition dice based combat and Point 'n' Click style gameplay, only the hardcore need apply.

Eventually four of the games were preserved by Sega on two different Mega CD compilations, known as Game no Kazume (aka Sega Games no Can) but still remained in Japanese, alogn with the rest of the games bundled on the CDs.

Here is a quick video of Anne's Adventure in action:

The recent translation patches have been created by the ever busy ROM Hacking group, M.I.J.E.T.. All are now available on their site to download and can be applied to the selected ROM following the instructions on their website.
