PC Engine Castlevania: Dracula X - Rondo of Blood Fan Translation With Sony PSP Audio Dubs

PC-Engine-Castlevania-Dracula-X-Rondo-of-Blood-Fan-Translation-With-Sony-PSP-Audio-DubsMaking the most of the PSP rerelease of Castlevania: Dracula X - Rondo of Blood, fans of the original game have decided to extract the rich media hidden within the 2009 hit to upgrade the iconic PC Engine title. Not only have these talented fans adapted the English voice overs into the PC Engine version of the game, but also localised the ingame text.

We often touch upon fan translations here at RetroCollect, most notably those allowing access to previously untranslated and unplayable exclusives from abroad, however every now and then we stumble across patches such as this taking things to a new level. While Rondo of Blood is perfectly playable with little Japanese knowledge, the arrival of our native language helps us further understand the storyline as intended.

Despite all the fantastic progress the team behind the patch have made, they have stated that they are still yet to finish their work. That said, the current version of the patch is ready and available to download for those wanting to enjoy a localised version the game right now.

While I like Dracula X, the best part of this entire thing is the English audio. I was so disappointed with the German audio in the Wii Virtual Console port.
