Nintendo's 'Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time' Gets Retro 2D Demake

Ocarina-of-Time-2D-RemakeYou can never question the dedication retro gamers have when making their pixelated-dreams a reality - especially fans of The Legend of Zelda. Believe it or not but a small group of die-hard devotees have taken it upon themselves to remake the Nintendo 64 adventure Ocarina of Time in a similar 2D style to that of Link to the Past.

This incredible task has already seen some considerable progress, along with a playable demo starting out in Link’s trusty forest hut. Despite the loss of polygons and three-dimensional environments, everything we know and love about the 1998 quest is present and recognisable - something which is further emphasised by the familiar musical scores adapted to fit the retro style.

While the team behind this have stated that only 10% of their remake is done as of yet, there’s more than enough to be enjoying already. Although Ocarina Of Time 2D doesn’t use any of Nintendo’s code, nor is it a ROM hack of the Super Nintendo title, we’re hopeful that the project is completed and not sent a batch of legal documents.

There is nothing new about this... man I'm glad to see that it's not dead, but this has been now what... over a decade since it started? Or is it dead? The article said something about 10% and if memory serves me that's where they were a decade ago.
