Nintendo Wii U Trailer Released For Watermelon's Upcoming HD Remake Of Mega Drive RPG 'Pier Solar'

Pier-Solar-HD-TrailerIf you missed out on securing the Sega Mega Drive version of Pier Solar, there's always the Nintendo Wii U and Sega Dreamcast versions to look forward to. After successfully raising enough funds via Kickstarter to build upon their 16-bit foundations, Watermelon have been hard at work updating their RPG and have since released a trailer.

From what we can see of the trailer, all of the Mega Drive's gameplay and unique artwork remains intact, only this time it sports a new lick of enhanced paint. As crisp and stunning as the high definition visuals are, Watermelon have also opted to please fans of the 16-bit original by allowing gamers to switch between modern and retro visuals, on the fly, in-game.

This Nintendo Wii U eShop trailer states that the Pier Solar HD remake is due to be released some time in the first quarter of 2014. Until then, be sure to take a closer look at what is yet to be another impressive release from Watermelon.
