Nintendo NES 'Super Mario Bros 3' Beaten in 3 Minutes

Super-Mario-Bros-Beaten-In-Under-Three-MinutesIf Cosmo's efforts beating Ocarina of Time in under twenty minutes weren't enough to amaze you, then cast your eyes over to the Nintendo NES. Glitch hunters and speedrunners have somehow discovered an invisible pipe within Super Mario Bros 3, one which allows the player to whisk themselves over to the very lair Peach is being held captive by Bowser.

Lord Tom & Tompa over at the TASVideos speedrun community recently uploaded their efforts showcasing one of the most impressive glitches ever seen in the Mushroom Kingdom. Using a 'esoteric memory corruption involving glitched pipe travel' the duo somehow manage to find themselves descending through the depths of World 7-1, only to then be placed straight into the game's ending screen.

Actually getting this glitch to work, however, is another matter. The duo's playthrough was created entirely using emulator tools, although using an automated input device it was soon proven that this warp glitch can be carried out on the original hardware too.

This is still a TAS even in the second video. Have you not noticed the device showing the key inputs? Also the clue is in the title. (truebot)

Incredible skill but "beaten" is a stretch - "SMB3 warped then glitched to the end is more accurate".
