Nintendo GameCube Emulator Modified To Support Oculus Rift

Oculus-RIft-GameCube-SupportIf you've ever dreamed of taking a closer look at the in-game environments of Nintendo GameCube games then you may want to look at securing an Oculus Rift now. The popular emulator Dolphin has had an update which now supports the virtual reality headset's headtracking and 3D features in classic GameCube titles.

The latest demonstration showcasing this fantastic combination uses the incredibly fast F-Zero GX to make its point. As the video shows, the player's head movements have been tracked perfectly as they look around the game's track, all whilst driving at an incredibly fast pace in all three dimensions.

While we'd expect this new offering to F-Zero GX to potentially cause motion sickness for some, we're eagerly anticipating the arrival of other videos showing how the likes of Zelda: Wind Waker and the GameCube remake of Resident Evil 1 utilise this emulation breakthrough.
