Nintendo 64, Game Boy & Master System Cartridge Adapters Now Available For The Retrode

Retrode-2---USB-Based-Retro-Gaming-Emulation-And-Preservation-Tool-Gearing-For-December-ReleaseIn late 2011 the Retrode 2 USB cartridge adapter was finally released. This plug-n-play device not only allowed you to connect Mega Drive and SNES cartridges to your computer, but also original gamepads too. To further expand upon this device's capabilities, plug-in adapters have just been released for the Nintendo 64, Game Boy & Master System.

The Retrode 2 offers all types of retro gamers the chance to make the most of their classics. Not only can those wanting to emulate their library legally make use of this adapter, but also those wanting to preserve prototype video games from their collection in ROM format or even their own save game files from the original cartridges.

Given that without additional hardware the Retrode 2 could only access Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo cartridges, the arrival of new adapters to read Nintendo 64, Game Boy & Master System games is a welcome addition. Each of these new adapters plugs into the Sega Mega Drive port of the Retrode 2, offering a new cartridge slot, and for the Nintendo 64 adapter, two control pad ports.

Each of these adapters can now be ordered from the Retrode store for 29.90 EUR.
