Nintendo 64 Control Pad Hacked To Work On Xbox One

N64-Control-Pad-Hacked-For-Xbox-OneWith Rare just weeks away from re-releasing a compilation of classics on the Xbox One, many of us have been wondering if the official control pad will be able to handle it. With the likes of Conker's Bad Fur Day and Banjo Kazooie set for the soon to be released Rare Replay, fans of the originals will be pleased to hear that one gamer has customised a Nintendo 64 control pad to work on the modern hardware.

Chris Gallizzi, one of the key figures at Hyperkin, recently revealed his efforts tinkering with the N64 control pad on YouTube. As he's quick to point out, the modified control pad isn't perfect due to the incompatibility with Xbox One games requiring more than one analog stick. Nevertheless on the games it's designed for - most notably the Rare Replay collection - it's a perfect addition for anyone feeling nostalgic.

Gallizzi is hoping to have the modification ready in time for the release of Rare Replay, however, it's yet to be known whether or not this is something Hyperkin will be offering - or instead just something the retro gamer has thrown together on the side. Either way, there's hope for those feeling like the classics need a vintage control pad.
