Nintendo 64 Consoles Get The Designer Treatment From Lekki

Lekki-Designer-Nintendo-64-ConsolesIf you've ever felt that your Nintendo 64 could do with a new lick of paint and a more desirable style to it, then you may want to keep reading. Over the last few years French based design studio Lekki have been updating retro technology to fit in with modern standards, with the N64 being the latest system to receive the treatment.

Alongside the 64-bit console, Nokia 3210 mobile phones, Game Boy Pocket handhelds and Super Nintendo consoles have all been updated, each sporting a unique style and shine their respective companies would be proud of. Lekki's trademark modifications introduce a dual-colour scheme to the dated hardware, with what appears to be an incredibly impressive finish.

Praise aside, as good as these consoles may look in your game rooms and collections, they do come at a cost. The recently introduced Nintendo 64 range will set you back €130 per console, each coming with Super Mario 64 and a matching control pad.

They look really, really nice, but for the price, I would rather customize these puppies myself.
Just sayin... ;-)

I love this! But seeing that the cost is in euros and I only have dollars... These are probably going to end up just being inspiration.

TBH I have seen just the UK console with one joypad, black version go for an extortionate £50. €130-€150 isn't too bad maybe €100 would be better. Looks cool, but a good custom job is always better.
