Up until now the only available videos showcasing the upcoming homebrew Neo Geo shooter, NEO XYX, have been recorded using a handheld camera. As of today, with plenty more development behind them, the NG:DEV.TEAM have released an official trailer of the soon to be released shmup in all its glory.
Upon first glance, we must say that we're rather impressed at what NEO XYX is set to offer. With stunning pixel sprites, bright visuals and what appears to be a catchy soundtrack, we're very much anticipating the scheduled April 2013 release.
Similar to their last release - Gunlord, and the many before it - NEO XYX is due to be made available on both the Neo Geo systems and the Sega Dreamcast. Pre-orders have opened up for the different versions of the game, allowing eager retro gamers to secure their copy early.
But enough talk. How about some action?

I think I'll stick with 1942, Xevious, Vulgus, Star Force, Juno First etc where the skill is in dodging bullets and hitting targets, not just mashing buttons and hitting the smart bomb. At least the game doesn't end when you lose your first ship because you've lost all your power-ups and you're hopelessly under-powered.
