NG:DEV.TEAM Announce Brand New Neo Geo & Sega Dreamcast Shmup 'Razion' Due For Autumn 2014 Release

Razion-Announce-For-Sega-Dreamcast-and-Neo-GeoHot on the heels of their last creation, NG:DEV.TEAM are already back in action with yet another scrolling shooter in development. Their newly announced title Razion is set to hit the Sega Dreamcast and Neo Geo later this year, promising stunning visuals, a belting soundtrack and arcade gameplay to boot.

Appearing out of nowhere, the newly launched official website for Razion already goes on to list what's in store for gamers this Autumn. Set to feature 6 massive stages and 13 bosses to beat, this pre-rendered 16-bit CGI-styled shooter is without a doubt one you'll want to watch.

The Neo Geo MVS version of Razion is set to be quite an interesting release too, mainly due to the fact it could possibly be the very first updatable-via-USB game cartridge for a classic console. Having said that, like most of NG:DEV.TEAM's prior impressive releases the Neo Geo version is a pricey investment, which leaves the Dreamcast version a more suitable purchase for most.

While no firm release date is known as of yet, NG:DEV.TEAM have released a trailer for Razion to entice retro gamers into yet another worthy homebrew purchase. Stay tuned as we await further information on this upcoming hit.

Yay yet another.. shmup for the Dreamcast. Are there any other genres? I love it when the homebrew community creates new games for the Dreamcast, but would be fun to have a new game that is not a shmup for once :)

I was going to say the same thing. I like shumps as much as the next, but NGDEV always seems to put these games out because they are the easiest to make. I'd like to see them try something a bit different. You can only play so much of this kind of game... especially if they want you to pay $500 for the game. I will not pay that kind of money for this genre, though I know there are some who will.
