New and Improved FlashBoy Plus (Virtual Boy Flash Card) Coming Soon

Flash-Boy-Plus-Virtual-Boy-Flash-CardIf you weren't luck enough to own one of the original 284 FlashBoy Virtual Boy Flash Cards, then you're now in luck! PlanetVB is currently preparing Richard Hutchinson's latest creation which now features an added Save Battery previously unseen in the original batches.

While the actual amount of Virtual Boy games commercially made available might have you wondering, we can assure you that this piece of kit is worth every penny. The FlashBoy will hold one game per flash via it's USB cable, which can be erased and rewritten within minutes.

The original batch of FlashBoys sadly were without an internal save battery. This made games such as Wario Land only half compatible with the USB cartridge, while the rest of the bunch worked a treat. This recent of addition will make the FlashBoy Plus the one and only Virtual Boy cartridge to have.

The added bonus to owning a FlashBoy now is the recent arrival of Bound High, a previously unreleased and undumped Virtual Boy game that was kindly made available by PlanetVB earlier this year. Bound High clearly shows off the potential the Virtual Boy has that was sadly boxed away and never to be seen.

Virtual-Boy-Mario-KartAnd even if those things don't appeal to you, there is a small, but active homebrew scene offering Virtual Boy Mario Kart, Virtual Boy OutRun and a Virtual Boy Silent Hill Novel.

The FlashBoy Plus is expected before the end of the year and the initial batch of 50 will cost 90EUR each. But don't leave it too late to get a FlashBoy, the last one sold on eBay for 178EUR. Demand is high!
