Neo Turf Masters Tries for a Birdie on iOS and Android on June 30th

It's a good time for SNK ports to modern systems, it seems, with Twinkle Star Sprites on Steam, The Last Blade 2 on PSN, and now classic golf-em-up Neo Turf Masters heading to iOS and Android devices from DotEmu at the end of this month.

Released in Japan as Big Tournament Golf, Neo Turf Masters is a fantastic 2D golf games with superb control mechanics and a soundtrack so revered DotEmu have lead their promotion of the game with its quality, but it also has a strong pedigree behind it. It was one of two games released by Nazca before they were absorbed into SNK themselves, the other being the seminal run-and-gun Metal Slug, so while that might sound like a surprise, it makes sense when you remember Nazca was formed by former Irem staff who, among other things, had worked on golf games Major Title and The Irem Skins Game.

If you've never tried the game before, this mobile port sounds like a perfect opportunity to get on the green and decide if you're a Shot Maker or a Technician, although there's no word just yet on whether there'll be any extras- this port is beng handled by DotEmu, who have added features like level selects in their previous SNK iOS ports. Neo Turf Masters releases for iOS and Android on the 30th of June- here's a sample of the original Neo-Geo version below.

Wait, what do I put in this box again? Oh, it's about me. I like playing weird and unusual games- the sort you're likely to forget about- and I hope you like reading about them because they're what I write about. And game trivia too. Please look forward to it!
