Namco's Soul Calibur II HD Remake Announced For PS3 / 360

Soul-Calibur-II-HD-RemakeWith Soul Calibur II set to celebrate its 10th anniversary on consoles, it was only natural that Namco would delve back into the colourful fighter's past and revive it in style. Having just announced an all new HD remake of the 2002 arcade classic, retro gamers can once again look forward to equipping themselves with this 16th century fighter later this year.

Project Soul have furthermore tasked themselves with handling this next instalment in the Soul series, bringing along the addition of online multiplayer and ‘vibrant updated graphics’ to both the on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Although Soul Calibur II originally featured a special character for each console, it is yet to be determined if this is to continue. While the trailer does happen to show Tekken favourite Heihachi, the Xbox and GameCube equivalents - Spawn and Link - are yet to be seen.

On the original Xbox SC2 was already playable at 720p on an NTSC (or modded) console. So no real update here.
