Myst Creators Bring Obduction to Kickstarter

Cyan, the creators of the hugely popular Myst series of adventure games have brought their immerser worlds to Kickstarter in the form of Obduction, a spiritual successor to Myst.

As this year marks the 20th anniversary of Myst, Cyan feels it is time for a new adventure, although this one won't star Atrus and the rest of the family. Instead, Obduction is a completely new IP, although it does have the same elements that made Myst such a success.

Built from the ground up, Obduction will be a real-time, first-person adventure game in which players will explore a beautiful alien landscape while solving puzzles and unlocking a deep, rich story. The game is set for release on both Windows and MacOS in mid-to-late 2015.

As of writing the game has raised $458,351 of its $1,100,000 goal so is almost at the halfway point, and that was raised in only 9 days! The funding period ends on November 13, 2013 so you still have a decent amount of time to donate to help Cyan bring their amazing style of adventure games to fruition.
