Multi-System Emulator ‘Mednafen’ Adds Sega Saturn Compatibility

Mednafen-Sega-Saturn-EmulationIf you’re familiar with the ins and outs of the emulation scene, you’ll no doubt know that the Sega Saturn is very much lagging behind. While there are emulators out there for the 32-bit console that just about do they job (and an impressive one gaining traction on Android devices), retro gamers finally have a promising new alternative through Mednafen.

For those unfamiliar with Mednafen, it’s an all-in-one package that provides emulation of multiple consoles and computers. To name but a few Mednafen can already emulate the likes of the Atari Lynx, Nintendo Entertainment System, PC-FX, Virtual Boy, and even the Sony PlayStation. While emulation for the Saturn is yet to be released officially, the team behind the emulator recently made available an ‘unstable’ build which introduced support for the 32-bit system.

As of speaking it’s very much early doors for this new addition, one which requires a rather powerful system to get the most of and PAL region games are currently unsupported. Nevertheless plenty of users online have been reporting some fantastic results, which if anything can only get better.

I think SSF is really good, apart from a minor bug with analogue controls in some games.
