MSXDev'14 Annual Coding Competition Introduces All New Selection Of MSX Homebrew Hits

MSXDev-14For quite some time the MSX community has held its very own development competition on a yearly basis, one which has since become a rather prolific homebrew coding contest. Each year a selection of MSX fanatics battle it out by creating exciting new adventures for their beloved system, with this year's releases packing quite the punch.

Over at the MSXDev'14 forums, several entries have already begun to arrive and gather interest from the retro gaming community. Like the previous years, most of these upcoming homebrew hits offer the finesse of a retail release - with several of these no doubt set to be sold in the near future.

Amongst the entries so far is Nayade Resistance - an impressive Gradius clone, Buster Mystery - a multi-screen arcade adventure featuring a star throwing ninja, World Rally - an 8-bit de-make of the arcade's 1993 release World Rally Championship, and also two mysterious titles with little information about them available, Zero and the Castle of Infinite Sadness and Mr Cracksman.

Several videos of these work-in-progress releases have been made available which can be seen below. Be sure to keep a close eye on the MSXDev forums to see the next few releases and how these already announced titles turn out.
