Mega Drive & Super Nintendo Platformer 'Mr Nutz' Set For HD Remix?

Mr-Nutz-HD-Remix-AnnouncedIn the early nineties Ocean released a quirky platformer for the 16-bit consoles known as Mr Nutz. Although a great game in its own right, its timing was somewhat unfortunate due to the flood of hero based platformers already on the market. As of today though, Mr Nutz could be making a comeback as the game's original producer is currently gauging interest for his return via Facebook.

Philippe Dessoly who not only produced the game, but also designed the Mr Nutz character and visuals, recently took to Facebook with an image teasing the squirrel's return. This image sporting the text "Pour le retour de Mr Nutz Alors Like" was asking fans of the series to hit Like and show their appreciation and interest.

Soon after this image had garnered plenty of interest in France, a brand new fan page popped up on Facebook known as Mr Nutz HD Remix. Although there has been little posted there to date, several high definition artwork pieces have surfaced showcasing some of the game's enemies, environments, and Mr Nutz himself too. On further inspection though, these visuals date back to 2010, which may even suggest that Mr Nutz HD Remix has been in the works for quite some time.

While we await further information as to what might be happening with Mr Nutz, be sure to show your support on Dessoly's image and the Mr Nutz HD Remix page.

What started a fun platformer for me turned into an absolute mess later on. Obscure hidden platforms and leaps of faith make for fun secret areas, NOT the way to progress!

Still, will finish it one day!

Are we ready for more retro-esque platform characters to reappear? Superfrog didn't do too well and the less said about poor Dizzy the better.
