Mario Kart 8 Gets Super Nintendo Demake ROM Hack

Mario-Kart-8-Super-Nintendo-ROM-Hack-DemakeMario Kart 8 is amazing, there's no questioning that! But how would the twist and turns of the brand new courses handle if they were taken back to the 16-bit era? Well, you're about to find out as the ever active Super Mario Kart community have released a Mario Kart 8 demake for the Super Nintendo.

While it would be near impossible to include Mario Circuit's moebius strip and the twining beanstalk in Cloudtop Cruise, the tracks from Mario Kart 8 have been brought over to Super Mario Kart as best possible. Nevertheless the familiarity of the hit Nintendo Wii U's courses are present in this novelty ROM hack, one which gives the timeless Super Mario Kart another jolt of life.

One modern feature which has been brought back to the past, however, is online multiplayer. As much as we'd like to say you can hook your Super Nintendo up to the web to join in the fun, online multiplayer is limited to the Zsnes emulator - with instructions on how to battle it out in the download.

As usual, to enjoy this ROM hack patch you will need to have a legally obtained original Super Mario Kart Super Nintendo ROM file to which you can apply this patch to. Full instructions on how to patch this ROM can be found within the download, or you can refer to this handy ROM patching guide on YouTube.
