Make Your Own Video Game Music With FMDRIVE YM2612 Mega Drive VSTI Synth

Make-Your-Own-Video-Game-Music-With-FMDRIVE-YM2612-Mega-Drive-VSTI-SynthEver dreamed of composing your own alternative to the Green Hill Zone tune, or even something to rival Yuzo Koshiro's timeless Streets of Rage 2 soundtrack? You're now in luck! Visual synthesiser creator Aly James has just released everything you'd ever need to create your own Mega Drive music - the FMDrive YM2612.

To create soundtracks on the Sega Mega Drive originally, composers not only needed to understand the theory of music, but also how to translate their melodies into readable code the console could interpret. If that wasn't advanced enough already, individual instruments also had to be programmed, requiring a lot more work than picking up the nearest keyboard or guitar.

Aly James' recent software release for Windows, FMDrive YM2612, streamlines the entire process of creating Mega Drive music by placing an easy to use synth in front of you without a single line of code required. FMDrive YM2612 comes pre-packed with over 33,000 different sounds, alongside various plug-ins and extensions to hook into your more familiar music packages.

So while on the subject, who will be first to compose a pixelized RetroCollect FM Podcast theme tune?
