Long Lost ZX Spectrum Manic Miner Tribute 'Willy’s Great Adventure' Released On iOS & Android

ZX-Spectrum-Willys-Great-AdventureIt's safe to say that both Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy paved the way for countless platformers soon after. One of these which was due to proceed this ZX Spectrum duo in 1985 was an unofficial title starring Miner Willy known as Willy’s Great Adventure. While this home-made homage never hit the shelves, Elite systems have since picked up this lost classic and have released it on iOS & Android.

So where exactly did this lost Miner Willy game from 28 years ago come from? Interestingly enough, an ex-Gremlin, Core Design and Eurocom designer - Terry Lloyd - recently got in touch with Elite Systems to inform them about a certain ZX Spectrum title which has been sitting on his hard drive for several decades. Willy’s Great Adventure was Lloyd's tribute to the platformer, one which appears to be an intricate modification of Matthew Smith's original featuring all new graphics and gameplay elements.

As of today, Willy’s Great Adventure is finally available to enjoy after being archived for so long. Both iOS and Android devices users will be able to secure this lost classic on the go for a mere £1.49.

PC version please, I'm not going anywhere near that kind of game with a touchscreen!

I was thinking the same. I'll give it a go for £1.50p but touchscreen controls usually suck.
