Long Lost ‘Lemmings 2: The Tribes Easter Egg’ Reveals Super Nintendo Super Scope Compatibility

Lemmings-2-Super-Scope-Easter-EggYou’ve got to love a good Easter Egg. Over the years, countless developers have locked away secret messages, levels, and visuals deep within the code of the games we know and love. While many of these have since been discovered, there’s occasionally one or two that seem to go amiss - for example, the ability to blast Lemmings using a Super Nintendo bazooka!

As mad as it sounds, it would appear this added firepower is well and truly built into Psygnosis’ Super Nintendo port of the Lemmings sequel. Using a Super Scope Light Gun, you can simply aim and fire away at the many Lemmings on screen, causing those that you hit to explode - without the use of that trusty nuke button.

Although serving no purpose whatsoever other than the sheer carnage and mayhem it can bring, this Easter Egg has remained unknown for two whole decades. So the next time you fire up Psygnosis’, be sure to plug in the Super Scope and get shooting.
