Legendary Nintendo World Championships Trophy Up For Auction

NWC1990-Trophy-On-eBayWhoever said you can't buy success? Right now the legendary holy grail of Nintendo NES collectors is sat on eBay and can be had for just $2,000. That's right, it's the Nintendo World Championships 1990 winners trophy, a symbol of infinite lives and invincibility.

This iconic video game relic was originally handed out to& Jeremy Tomashek, the winner of the 11 & under category of Atalanta's Nintendo World Championships back in 1990. Beating countless other youngsters with his joypad smashing power, Tomashek stormed his way through Super Mario Bros, Rad Racer and Tetris, claiming first place with an impressive high score.

All the fame and glory of being a Nintendo superstar, however, must have been too much to take. The NWC trophy was previously sold by Tomashek to a die-hard Nintendo NES collector, one who is also now hoping to pass the brass onto another lucky owner.

Listed with a Buy It Now price of $2,000, Tomashek's trophy could soon be landing in its third home since 1990. As fantastic as it may be, we do have to wonder what it would be like displaying a trophy bearing someone else's name - after all, while you do have the chance to own this in exchange for a large figure, it will forever be branded with Tomashek's feat all those years ago.
