If the recent flurry of retro gaming flash cartridges wasn't enough for you, then you're in luck. Flash card extraordinaire Krikzz is due to return with another addition to his technically impressive Everdrive range. While this new arrival hasn't been named just yet, Krikzz's latest tweet suggests that the Nintendo NES & Famicom are about to be gifted the ultimate accessory.
The tweet Krikzz recently published came bundled with a picture of an unnamed and yet to be released flash cartridge sporting the Everdrive name. Upon closer inspection those with an experienced retro gaming eye will notice that the bottom half of the cartridge's connector features 60 pins (30 on each side), an amount which is identical to that of the Nintendo Famicom range.
While this is great news for those who own the Japanese version of Nintendo's 8-bit system, US and PAL NES owners maybe wondering if they're about to miss out on the ROM loading SD card ready device. A 60 to 72 pin cartridge adapter used to play imports could be used to bridge the gap here, however, Krikzz has stated that two versions of the cartridge are due for release - the other being a 72pin cartridge for the US and PAL Nintendo NES consoles.
Hopefully we'll have more news and information on this fantastic development soon, including the all important release date and price for what might just be called the NES Everdrive.
