Dodge monsters, rescue fairies, accumulate gold and stay safe, that's the aim of Cave Noire. This Japanese exclusive Nintendo Game Boy game hailing from the rogue-like genre has remained inaccessible to English speakers since 1991. Aeon Genesis however have remedied thisfact and released a fan translation patch for the game.
Like most rogue titles, Cave Noire features the traditional turn based approach of 'I move one space, everything else also moves one space'. To add a bit more interest into this tried and tested approach, Cave Noire has the protagonist on a hunt to rescue the fairies within the dungeon system. Something most definitely easier said than done...
Although the in-game Japanese text is down to a minimum, the fan translation clears up any uncertainties regarding the menus and pop ups, allowing English speakers to finally enjoy this obscure treat.

As usual, to enjoy this fan translation patch you will need to have an original ROM file of the game in which you can apply this patch to. Full instructions on how to patch this ROM can be found within the download, or you can refer to this handy ROM patching guide on YouTube.
