Kickstarter Launches For 'The History Of U.S. Gold' Book

The-History-Of-US-Gold-Kickstarter-OpensEarlier this month Chris Wilkins of Retro Fusion and Revival Events announced that he would soon be gifting U.S. Gold an immortalisation in book form. Similar to the History of Ocean book that was successfully funded through Kickstarter, a campaign has been opened up to seek crowd-funding for this all new book.

The History Of U.S. Gold is set to contain over two hundred pages, all of which will be contained in a desirable embossed cover book. This book will detail the rise of U.S. Gold during the 1980s onwards, all up until the company was sold to Eidos. The team behind the Kickstarter are hoping to speak to the founders of U.S. Gold - Geoff and Anne Brown - who successfully launched hundreds of classic video games over the years.

The founders, however, are not the only ones that will be doing the talking. Developers behind the likes of Beach Head, Impossible Mission, Summer Games and countless arcade conversions like Outrun, Tapper, Spy Hunter and Strider, will also be making an appearance to discuss the company's rich history.

Furthermore, The History of U.S. Gold will also look at the creation of 'Centresoft'. This U.S. Gold owned company was a crucial asset to their business back in the day, providing the largest distribution centre of video games in the United Kingdom.

Content aside, The History of U.S. Gold will also feature countless pieces of artwork, photographs and visuals, some never seen before.

Within mere days, over two thirds of the target has been raised through Kickstarter. A pledge of £25 will secure yourself a copy of the book, while those with touchscreen devices need only offer £10 to get a digital copy.
