Kickstarter Funded 'Commodore 64: A Visual Commpendium' Hits Online Stores

Commodore-64-A-Visual-Commpendium-ReleasedAfter an incredibly successful fundraiser through Kickstarter, Bitmap Books have published their first of many printed celebrations of the games we know and love. The Commodore 64: A Visual Commpendium is an in depth look at the loading screens, timeless visuals, iconic characters, and just about everything else we fondly look back on with the home computer, and more.

Put together by Sam Dyer, the £35,000 Kickstarter creation is everything you'd expect from someone who appears to be besotted with the C64. Like many of us growing up with the system, all those hours spent waiting for the latest titles to load from tape have left a lasting impression. Within those long-lasting loading screens and dated in-game visuals were labours of love, pixel perfect animations and memories to be had - something the Commodore 64: A Visual Commpendium captures perfectly.

The lithographically printed book spans over a massive 230 pages of simpler times, including original artwork from games as early on as Jupiter Lander all the way up to the mighty Mayhem in Monsterland. Edited by Commodore Format and Edge editor Steve Jarratt, the Commodore 64: A Visual Commpendium is something fans of the home computer don't want to miss out on.

At the time of writing, this new book is being sold exclusively at online retailer Funstock for £24.99.
