Keiji Inafune Launches Kickstarter To Fund Mega Man Spiritual Successor 'Mighty No. 9'

Mighty-No-9-KickstarterIf you've been feeling a little lost where Mega Man is concerned since Keiji Inafune left Capcom, then there is some good news in store for you. In an attempt to continue forward with his robot-boy action-platforming series, Inafune has turned to Kickstarter to help fund his next creation, one heavily inspired by his blue bomber past, Mighty No. 9.

In just a mere matter of hours, Inafune's recently launched Kickstarter has already managed to attract a third of the requested $900,000 via fundraising. This in turn is not only due to how much fans want to see a new Mega Man styled video game reach the market, but also most likely down to the Kickstarter trailer published on the fundraising page. The short 5 minute video follows Inafune round Japan as he discusses his love of games, visits Super Potato and local arcades before showing us around the studio of his new company, Comcept. Needless to say his passion shines through every word spoken and it's as clear as day how desperate he is to continue the blue bomber's legacy - something fans have decided to respond to in the form of donations.

While there is still a long way to go, be sure to check out the Kickstarter trailer for Mighty No. 9 and see whether or not you feel this new hero is worth of his adventure début.

I think this is gonna be an awesome game, except it is way too similar to Mega Man. So many things that have been shown so far are ridiculously close to things in Mega Man. For example, the names of the main characters, Beck and Call which is very similar to Rock and Roll, the Main characters in Mega Man.There are too many similarities to list but few more I like are the dog that transforms, the jump/fall animation of Beck, and the sketch that Keiji Inafune does of him in the video and on his signature. Just look at a comparison of Keiji Inafune signature on the Kickstarter page and his Mega Man one.
