Jeff Minter's Unreleased Konix Multisystem Port Of 'Attack Of The Mutant Camels' Preserved & Due For Release

The Konix Multisystem as it was known was sadly canned due to financial issues, however, its legacy still lives on. Enthusiasts over the years have managed to create a working emulator, for which another game has just been preserved - Attack of the Mutant Camels.

To give a bit more back story to this discovery, it was presumed everything regarding the Konix Multisystem had been lost amid the tragic end of the promising console. Many years later those involved with the Konix Multisystem have stepped forward to help preserve the dinosaur system for both gamers and historians. This in turn saw the arrival of the first Konix Multisystem development kit surfacing in 2011, along with a Konix Multisystem port of James Pond 2: Robocod.

Fans now had everything they needed to create a working emulator for the fabled console. All they were missing was a selection of games other than just Robocod.

Jeff Minter of Llamasoft fame was originally part of the Konix Multisystem development, aiding the programming side of things. With such a connection to the hardware, it was only a matter of time before Llamasoft creations were brought over to the system. Attack of the Mutant Camels was Minter's first game to be ported to the system, one which has just been discovered and preserved - much to Minter's amazement, who had previously assumed the game had been long lost.

Jeff Minter has given the Konix Multisystem fan site permission to release the game online. Once several adjustments have been made to the Konix Multisystem emulator, you can expect to see both Attack of the Mutant Camels and the emulator available for download.
