While the Standard Daisenryaku series might not be too popular nor well known in the West, that doesn't mean we can't be enjoying the harcore war simulator too. ROM hackers have put together a translation patch for the Sony PlayStation 2 title Standard Daisenryaku: Ushinawareta Shōri which is now available for download.
The Daisenryaku series is one of the longest running video game series in Japan, spanning countless games on the Nintendo Famicom all the way up to the Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game plays out very much like a tactics based strategy game on a hexagonal grid, putting you in command of an entire army needing orders from above. Fans of Nintendo's Advance Wars series will feel right at home with this one as if the portable classic has been sculpted into a high definition remake.
The fan translation of Standard Daisenryaku: Ushinawareta Shōri (Also known as Standard Daisenryaku: Lost Victory) which has been put together is still in development, however, the latest build of the patch features more than enough of the game translated for English speakers to enjoy.

This game is very hard, and maybe that's why I don't like it very much.
