Despite having an incredibly small library of games, Nintendo's Pokemon Mini handheld packs quite a punch. Sadly only 5 of the 10 games released were made available to English audiences. Luckily enough, the addictive Japanese exclusive title Pokemon Race Mini has been fan translated into English.
This new fan translation patch comes from the Pokemon Mini fan site, Pokemon-Mini.net. Their on-going efforts have seen the fabled and somewhat obscure handheld documented to every last detail, whilst also offering us several other fan translations of the other Japanese titles. Only Pichu Bros. Mini remains to be translated now, so we can only hope their efforts have shifted in that direction.
For those unfamiliar with Pokemon Race Mini, the gameplay is very similar to that of Data East's Dashin' Desperadoes on the Sega Mega Drive (US import) - a manic 2D platformer race from left to right against your speedy rival. Alongside Pokemon Tetris it would be fair to say that this import only title is one of the best available on the tiny system.
